All SAC volunteers participate in a CORE training before being trained in his or her specific areas of interest.
The CORE training is an approximately 10 hour community education training that provides volunteers with important information
about sexual assault and the services that the Center provides for survivors and their significant others.
We describe the role of a Sexual Assault Center volunteer as that of an 'advocate.' This means that we support, counsel,
and aide survivors of sexual assault and those who are close to her or him in identifying and meeting their needs. Our
primary purpose for being there is to help a survivor work through her or his immediate crisis.
If you have any questions, please contact Pam at 706-546-1133 or by email at pssac@dbellsouth.net .
We hope to update this page often with new photos and events.
